Hi Skiers,
October already! And of course that means that ski season is only weeks away (time for a snow dance!).
Time to dust off that equipment and get ready.
Get your season pass for the best trails and skiing around. Go to the club's website and follow the links to easy online registration and payment.
Early bird membership rates end on October 31st so don't delay!
Our club board for the upcoming year was elected at the AGM on September 28th. Tom Ullyett returns as President, joined by Sue Meikle as VP, Lorna Hutchinson as Secretary, Ian Robinson as Treasurer and Anne Kennedy, Pippa Lawson and Craig Thur as directors. Bill Curtis will rejoin the board as past president.
Staking on the Club Trail System
|
The club asked the major party leaders for their positions on the issue of withdrawing the land the ski trails sit on from mineral staking. See our news section for their responses.
Jackrabbit and Bunny Update
|
Jackrabbits and Bunnies are full as of October 6th.
The limiting factor for the program is, as always, leaders. We can increase participation in Jackrabbits and Bunnies with more coaches! We need coaches and there is training available to become a coach. The Introduction to Community Coaching will run on October 22 and a combination Introduction to Community Coaching/Community Coaching will run November 16, 17, 19-20. Please email Sarah at programs@xcskiwhitehorse.ca if you are interested in coaching or helping with Jackrabbits and Bunnies - no experience needed!
Email programs@xcskiwhitehorse.ca to be put on the waiting list for Jackrabbits or Bunnies.
For more information call the Program Manager, Sarah Murray at 668-4477 or e-mail her at programs@xcskiwhitehorse.ca
